| A corner of the forum devoted to discussing musicals. Are there any shows that you think are awesome, or any so bad that it made you wish you could turn back the clock to regain those three hours you lost? Talk about them here! |

I need to see Rent all the way through.
Cats is still my favorite, although Les Mis comes in a close second.
And damnit, Moulin Rouge gets in my head WAYTOOEASILY.
...movie musicals count, right? |

Yep. And you should see Rent all the way through. It is awesome... Angel shall always be my favorite character. ^_^"
I've never seen the other three you mentioned... I could have seen Les Mis in my Junior year, but people in my French class were already annoying the ever loving hell out of me about it and telling me to go. |

Phantom of the Opera is my favorite <333 Poor poor Erik... And I just LOVE the music... I read the book, saw the musical with my mom, and even saw the movie... I think the best was the musical. <3
I love Andrew Lloyd Webber.
My other favorites: Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sound of Music, Evita (Ah, Antonio Banderes...) _________________

EVITA.
I saw that for my Spanish class. "Don't cry for me Argentina..."
I could discuss that woman for a long time. _________________ BEEP BEEP I'M THE LORD OF TIME!

I got to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. It was pretty neat, but not necessarily the favorite one I saw while there. The music was good, but tech was splendid. ^_^
The one I loved the most while I was in New York was Mama Mia (Curse you ABBA! Your songs get in my head too easily), and my least favorite was The Color Purple. The tech was fantastic, and the actors did a good job, but there's only so much suffering you can watch one person go through in 3 hours. That, and I'm not a fan of gospel music. _________________

xD I never saw Mamma Mia, but I wish too.
My mom brainwashed me with Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita... >_> She non-stop played those soundtracks. And every Easter she forced us to watch Jesus Christ Superstar... which I was then forced to watch again in my theology class at school. xD My mom knows every single word of Jesus Christ Superstar... Well, I probably know every word to The Wizard of Oz movie, so that's not so bad.
I've never seen either of those. There's still a lot I haven't seen. _________________

| Saw Evita...it wasn't bad. Sort of an odd subject for a musical I think, but hey, who am I to call things odd? |

They sort of count don't they?
Phantom-Les Miserables-Rent-Cats-Jesus Christ Superstar-Moulin Rouge= Major Ass Kicking Party!!!
I like the oldies from the fifties with Howard Keel, Doris Day and Gene Kelly *swoons* My little sister and I are (on and off) writing a musical, it's really stupid but we have fun doing it *grins*
A musical I would absolutely loooove to see would be Spring Awakening. I'm a huge Duncan Sheik fan and the music in it kicks some serious ass. And as a future youthworker it's really cool to see a musical that takes up the angst and wonders of growing up with such respect and sensitivity.
Sadly they're only showing in the states so I won't be able to see it anytime soon |

How did I not notice this sooner?
Sadly, I've never actually seen a live musical, only the movie adaptations.T_T But Rosario Dawson's voice is amazing, so at least I can be patient about it. Moulin Rouge was pretty awesome, the music in Phantom was pretty awesome, I liked some of the songs from Mamma Mia and the main girl's voice was great, I watched Grease about eight times in a row once I discovered it, and Rent is most certainly my favorite.
I haven't finished reading Wicked, and I've only heard one song from it, but I love that one song, and that song is What is This Feeling. The others, I have not seen. Evita I hadn't even heard of! *goes to look it up* _________________ <center>
