< Unfortunately for the girl, the chain was far too resilient for her attack to break even if she had gone at it from a more suitable angle, and it escaped without even so much as a scratch. All that her shards managed to do was divert the chain such that the weight missed crushing her foot, instead embedding itself deep into the floor. A ways away, the Arrancar laughed harshly at the sight in front of him, laxing back to his earlier air of arrogance and mild amusement at the situation. >

Is this the best you humans have to offer? How utterly pitiful.

Normally Kyoko would be the honorable type, but her life was a little more important than fighting with respect and dignity. So she recovered her kneeling position and attacked him while he was speaking. Cheap? Yes. Completely called for? Very much. As soon as she had launched her little projectiles she darted away again, glad that she had chosen a particularly large warehouse for their little showdown. But she was beginning to get nervous again: after all, adrenalin and stubbornness can only get an injured and bleeding person so far. She was really starting to wear down, and she was worried that soon she would no longer be able to fight.

< Weaver saw the attack coming from a mile away. Really, the girl must have been rather dim to assume that if he had dodged all her other little tricks, he would dodge this one as well. With his speed, her attacks at that range were essentially a non-issue to him. All he had to do was move to the side, out of their path. Simple, really. He leapt back and to the side, as he had before. >

Ha! Can't you see it's use--

< Weaver was interrupted by the sound of a metallic CLANK. Since he had been speaking to her, he had not yet retracted the chain, which before had not been a problem, since the other end of the chain had been free, so he could move back as he liked. Unfortunately, due to his last attack, the chain was fully extended *and* the weight was still rather firmly stuck in the floor. The weight was in the floor, the chain was attached to the weight, and the chain was attached to him, which all added up to one particularly unpleasant truth: regardless of his speed, he could not move out of the way in time. >

< In an executive decision, he used his free arm to shield his face at the last second, the shards connecting with a rather painful-sounding thunk with the arm and his chest. >

< After a moment, Weaver lowered his left arm and glanced at the shards in his body with a quizzical look. None of them seemed to have penetrated his skin too deeply, but unlike his brother, his hierro was not strong enough to glance off the attack entirely. In a swift motion, he gripped the chain and wrenched the weight free from the concrete it had gotten trapped in and then promptly pulled out the little light darts. Red showed through the resultant cuts in his sleeve, and a small trickle of blood dribbled down from his chest, staining his cloak. This did not please him. >

< With a somewhat peeved grunt, he started after the fleeing girl, weapon spinning once more. >

Kyoko thanked whatever lucky stars or higher beings may have been looking after her, just in case. If she could make him bleed, killing him was simply a matter of hitting him again in the right spot. And if she could dodge his attack at close range again, she could do that. She just needed to get into such a position that she could dodge one attack and end up someplace high. If she leapt at him and attacked from a more close-ish range while his chain was fully extended, there was a better chance she could hit him in the eye or something.

Her strength was waning, so she had to act fast. Ah, there. Kyoko climbed onto a stack of boxes nearby, with another sturdy stack close enough that she could jump to it. That would work. She turned to face her opponent and readied herself.

< The chain twirled again, gathering speed, followed by the pause that usually preceded an attack. However, the crash was delayed, the weight having momentarily disappeared. Weaver's right arm, the one with the chain usually hanging out of his sleeve, was at his back. With a devious grin, he brought it forward, the chain reappearing. Having wrapped around a metal barrel which had been placed behind him. He swung the chain around as if the barrel had weighed nothing and pitched it at the pile of boxes the girl was standing on, the weight unwinding itself from the object and in the throw and immediately segueing into one of the spins he used to build up speed. >

< By the time the barrel crashed into the stack of junk the girl had been standing on, the weight had reached its usual deadly momentum and launched again. This time, the chain lashed like a whip at the girl in mid-air as she tried to jump to the next pile, in an attempt to wrap around and snare her as it had the barrel. >

Kyoko gasped as she felt the chain wrap around her left leg - her injured leg. She felt the hard tug as it halted her midair progress, and gave a pained yelp as she hit the ground hard. But she couldn't afford to stay down. She pushed herself to her hands and knees, and turned to grab hold of the chain. First she ensured it was pulled taught, and then she attacked again, sending a few waves of little weapons at her enemy.

< Weaver grunted, realizing the futility of attempting to dodge after having essentially tied the two of them together, and resorted instead to using his right arm to intercept each and every one of the shards being directed his way. Without even pausing to pull out any of the blades that had penetrated his limb, he proceeded to use rapid-fire sonido, reappearing in a burst of static next to the girl, then behind her, then to her side. As he moved, the chain moved as well and began to wind itself around her. Since he had caught her leg, it was just a matter of moving in a circle around her in order to restrain the rest of her body. >

Kyoko felt a bout of panic well up, but she shook it off. She couldn't give up yet. She watched the arrancar disappear and reappear a few times, and wondered whether he was actually teleporting or just moving more quickly than she could see. Deciding to test it, she gathered up some light and waited just until he'd disappeared, and aimed another arc of light at the spot she predicted he'd end up going in the direction he'd be coming from if he was in fact just moving super fast. She was lucky she could use her powers without moving her hands, else she'd be screwed at this point.

Bloody hell!

< This time, Weaver actually cursed loudly. As he reappeared, it became evident that the girl's attack had hit. Blood freely dribbled down the front of his cloak, the arc of light sticking out of the general region of his clavicle as he crushed it to pieces with his left hand. He glanced down at his formerly-silver cape, groaning with disgust at the steady stream of crimson staining its front. When he looked up, it was lucky for the girl that he did not have her power, as the daggers he was glaring at her would have torn her to pieces. >

< However, after a moment, the brief flash of anger once again vanished, replaced by his previous air of arrogance. He had managed to efficiently trap the girls legs together and her arms to her sides, ten remaining feet of taut chain separating them. His wound had been a small price to pay for finally tying the girl up, even if doing so would not neutralize her attacks. >

Tch. Oh my, oh my. I suppose if my dear brother were here, he would doubtlessly say that that's what I get for playing around and not taking things seriously enough. But regardless, now that I have you restrained, getting you to cease these pointless efforts really shall be little more than child's play.

< To emphasize his point, he tugged back lightly, the chain around the girl's body tightly constricting, squeezing her in a vice not unlike creatures trapped within the coils of a snake. >

Kyoko grunted, finding it hard to breathe with the chain wrapped so tightly around her. She glared back at him and made another arc, this time starting from behind his back and aiming at his neck. If she was lucky, maybe she could sever his spinal cord. She was careful to keep some light gathered near her, though, in case he dodged and she had to block her own attack.

< Weaver had suspected something like that was going to happen. Since the girl had got him in the collarbone earlier, he had started to regard her ability as more of a threat than he had before. When the attack came, all he did was spare a short glance over his shoulder to confirm what he was already aware of. Instead of moving out of the way, however, he simply jerked his free left arm upwards. There was an all-too-familiar rattling sound as something shot out of his sleeve and upward, smashing through and disintegrating the oncoming attack. Evidently, the weighted chain that ran up into his right sleeve was not his only weapon... >

< Said second weapon fell through the air, where its owner snagged it by the chain, slowly swinging the attached object. Unlike the chain running up his right arm, the chain from his left ended not with a skull-shaped weight, but rather a wicked-looking scythe blade, short-but-sharp and menacingly curved. The Arrancar returned his gaze to his victim, seeming more off-put than anything else. >

Tsk. What a disgrace, having to use both arms to deal with a mere human. The things Brother would say if he could see me, right now.
